Beshear Serves on DAGA Executive Committee

Washington, D.C.— Following the announcement from Kentucky AG Andy Beshear on his run for Governor in 2019, the Democratic Attorneys General Association (@DemocraticAGs) released the following statement from Executive Director Sean Rankin. Beshear is currently a member of the Democratic Attorneys General Association Executive Committee.

STATEMENT FROM SEAN RANKIN, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, DEMOCRATIC ATTORNEYS GENERAL ASSOCIATION:

“Over the past three years, there has been no greater champion for working Kentuckians – teachers, law enforcement, firefighters, and all those who serve the people of Kentucky – than Attorney General Andy Beshear. Today, we stand with him as begins his run for Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky.  As Governor, he will continue to protect healthcare for hundreds of thousands of people, defend seniors from scammers and abuse in nursing homes, fight for survivors of domestic violence, and find justice for those families suffering the ravages of the opioid crisis.”

“As a Kentuckian with deep roots in the Commonwealth, I know the difference between serving people and self-service. Matt Bevin has put himself above Kentuckians in need.  I’ve known Andy Beshear for more than 20 years, and I know that he is a leader who puts people above politics. With Andy Beshear as Governor, the Commonwealth of Kentucky will see better days ahead. “

“Thank you, Andy, for your service as Attorney General and know you have many friends behind you in the election to come. We are already in conversations with strong Democratic candidates to continue Beshear’s great work in the Attorneys General office as well.”

Our democracy can't wait.
